Three public consultations added to FHA review

The Farm Household Allowance independent review panel will visit Tamworth, Dubbo and Bairnsdale to hear from farmers and stakeholders.

Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud welcomed the additional consultations.

“The FHA is in place to help farmers facing hardship, including drought, to put food on the table and pay for household expenses,” Minister Littleproud said.

“I want to know if the FHA is providing the best possible support to farmers, and to see if there are ways to improve it.

“I urge farmers and other interested persons to have their say either in person, online or through a written submission.

“We need the views of those who have applied or received the payment, as well as those who haven’t ever received the payment—along with relevant stakeholders such as accountants and Rural Financial Counsellors.

“The panel can’t visit every region, so stakeholders can provide written submissions by the deadline. There’s also a short survey on Have Your Say—with access to this online survey extended for an additional two weeks to 16 November 2018.”
